COMING:  MALTA and TURKEY - The Oldest and the Earliest: An Encounter with the Birth of Civilization

Dating from ca. 3,700 BC and continuing development for more than a millennium, Malta’s megalithic temples are the oldest freestanding buildings on earth.  Remains of the “Temple Culture” represent a snapshot portrait of both the Neolithic Mediterranean Region and of indigenous development in the evolution of monumental architecture.

Çatalhöyük  :a village of 300 mud brick and plaster residences, one of the earliest villages found to date. The site was occupied from about 6,300-5,500 BC, and its most striking and famous feature are the shrines dedicated to what has been called the "Mother Goddess."

Turkey's stunning megalithic Göbekli Tepe site is the oldest place of worship so far found anywhere. It’s likely that the first stones were raised as early as 10,000 BC.

Sixteen-night tour program with optional extensions in Turkey
